Metal Louver Noise Barrier

Product Introduction

The metal louver noise barrier is composed of aluminum louver panels, galvanized steel back panels, H-shaped steelsupport frames, sound-absorbing core materials, single-tube rubber seals, and other integrated components.

The louver perforation structure is specifically engineered with waterproof and dustproof performance in mind. The blades are set at 15 to 45 angle, and the inclined louver design enables both sound reflection and sound absorption. Even industy or rainy environments, the acoustic performance remains stable and effective.

By combining a “louver structure porous sound-absorbing system, the barrier delivers comprehensive performanceincluding noise reduction, rain protection, ventilation, and long-term durability.
The system can also be designed as a combined acoustic barrier structure, featuring transparent upper panels (acrylic orpolycarbonate) with lower metal louver sound-absorbing panels. This configuration integrates multiple functions such assound absorption, natural lighting.

Besides our Metal Louver Noise Barrier, we also supply a comprehensive range of noise barrier products and acoustic accessories for highway and railway projects, including Metal Perforated Noise Barrier, PMMA Acrylic Noise Barrier, Photovoltaic Noise Barrier, and other specialized systems. as well as supporting Acoustic Core Systems.

For complete highway infrastructure projects, our noise barrier systems can also be integrated with Highway Guardrail Systems and other Traffic Safety and Road Management Products, providing a coordinated solution for noise reduction, road safety, and overall traffic management.

Material & Structural Behaviour

Engineered for durability and aerodynamic efficiency, the panels are constructed using High-Grade Aluminum (3003) or Galvanized Steel, typically with a 1.2mm front panel and 1.0–1.2mm back panel. The louver blades are set at precision angles (15° – 45°) to balance noise intake with weather protection.

Lightweight Engineering

With a surface density as low as 22.5 ~ 25.0 kg/m² for lightweight versions, this system is optimized for retrofitting old bridges without compromising the original structural load capacity.

Wind Resistance & Aerodynamics

Features a remarkably low drag coefficient (0.38 ~ 0.60) compared to solid barriers (1.2 – 1.8). It can withstand Class 10–12 typhoons with minimal residual deformation (< L/500).

Durability & Safety

The system features a 30-year corrosion protection rating and a 60-year primary structural life. Treated with hot-dip galvanizing and fluorocarbon coating, it is resistant to UV radiation and freeze-thaw cycles, having passed the 1000h salt spray test.

Performance

Louver & Perforation Design

The precision-angled louvers (standard 45°) with a perforation rate of > 25% are designed to allow controlled airflow, which dramatically reduces the wind load on the support pillars while effectively “trapping” sound waves.

Acoustic Core Structure

Equipped with an open-cell Foam Aluminum core (20 – 30mm thickness). The core is Class A1 non-combustible and offers stable acoustic performance across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +150°C), with a service life exceeding 25 years.

Dimensions & Customization

  • Panel Thickness: 40 – 100mm
  • Panel Width: 400 – 500mm
  • Standard Units: 1960 x 500 x 100mm / 2460 x 500 x 100mm
  • Customization: Lengths are fully customizable to meet specific engineering span requirements.

Production Process

Stage 1: Precision Fabricating

We utilize advanced shearing and CNC bending for the production of panel blanks and specialized auxiliary hardware.

Stage 2: Acoustic Perforation

The front facing panels undergo high-speed CNC punching to ensure optimal sound absorption performance.

Stage 3: Panel Structure Forming

Heavy-duty roll forming is applied to the acoustic panel backplates to achieve precise geometry and structural integrity.

Stage 4:
Reinforced Welding

Industrial-grade structural welding integrates the internal skeleton and keel reinforcement for maximum stability.

Stage 5:
Final Assembly

A systematic multi-layer integration process combines the acoustic core materials, facing panels, and backplates.

Stage 6:
Protective Finishing

The entire unit receives an electrostatic powder coating for superior weather resistance and a professional finish.

Stage 7:
Structural Anchoring

Heavy-duty welding is used to secure base plates, hanging brackets, and reinforcement ribs for onsite installation.
