The Challenge
The Moshuihu North Road project (stretching from Longyang Avenue to Jiangcheng Avenue) required a massive, fully enclosed acoustic barrier to manage high-volume traffic noise. The scale of the project was unprecedented at the time, demanding a structural design capable of spanning distances up to 45 meters while maintaining safety and durability.
Solution
To meet these large-scale engineering needs, a specialized fully enclosed barrier system was implemented:
- Advanced Materials: The structure combines micro perforated acoustic panel with high-durability acrylic panel to maximize sound absorption while allowing for light transmission.
- Structural Engineering: The project utilizes submerged arc welding and unequal H-beams to support the wide spans required by the elevated road layout.
- Scale and Design: With a maximum span of 45 meters, this installation was established as the largest elevated, fully enclosed noise barrier project in the country at the time of its construction.
