Acrylic Panel noise barrier Project-Wuhan

The Dongfeng Avenue Expressway renovation is a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing urban transit between the 3rd and 4th Ring Roads. As a major elevated thoroughfare, the project incorporated a comprehensive noise barrier solution to protect surrounding communities from traffic-induced noise, balancing transport efficiency with urban environmental quality.

The Challenge

The first phase of the Dongfeng Avenue expressway upgrade involved managing noise levels across 10 distinct environmentally sensitive locations along the elevated main line and various ramps. The project required a large-scale, consistent barrier system capable of providing reliable acoustic shielding over several kilometers of high-traffic infrastructure.

Solution

To address the acoustic requirements of this expressway transformation, a high-capacity sound barrier system was manufactured and installed:

  • Total Installation Length: The project features a total noise barrier length of 6,522 meters across the designated sections.
  • Standardized Dimensions: A uniform height of 4 meters was implemented to ensure optimal sound diffraction and noise reduction for the surrounding areas.
  • Structural Design: The system utilizes straight arc sound insulation barriers, a design chosen for its effectiveness in urban expressway environments.
  • End-to-End Delivery: The scope of work included the complete production and professional installation of the entire 6.5-kilometer barrier line.

Execution and Outcomes

The successful implementation of the noise barriers along Dongfeng Avenue has significantly reduced the environmental impact of the expressway on nearby sensitive zones. By providing over 6,500 meters of specialized acoustic protection, the project supports the city’s goal of creating a more livable urban environment while maintaining its vital rapid transit networks.
