Acrylic Noise Barrier-Suzhou Community
This project involves the construction of sound barriers along the Belt Highway to protect the Jinjun Community (Xincheng Community) in the Wuzhong District of Suzhou. The work is specifically focused on the S58 Shanghai-Changzhou High-speed Highway, stretching from pile K44+300 to K44+680 near the Dalonggang Bridge.

The Challenge
The project area is located along a busy stretch of the Southwest line of the Belt Highway, which features a two-way, six-lane layout. With a design speed of 100 km/h, the constant flow of high-speed traffic generates significant noise that directly impacts the quality of life for the residents in the adjacent community.
Solution
To provide an effective noise buffer for the Jinjun Community, our approach focused on targeted installation and robust design:
- Precise Location Targeting: We concentrated construction on a 380-meter segment (K44+300 to K44+680) most affected by proximity to the Dalonggang Bridge.
- High-Speed Resilience: The barriers were designed to withstand the air pressure and vibrations from a six-lane highway with traffic traveling at 100 km/h.
- Community Protection: The primary goal was to create a quiet living environment for the Wuzhong District residents by intercepting highway noise before it reaches the housing units.
Execution and Outcomes
By installing these specialized sound barriers along the S58 Shanghai-Changzhou line, we successfully reduced the acoustic impact on the Jinjun Community. The project ensures that despite the heavy traffic on the Belt Highway, the local residential environment remains protected and comfortable.
